I am a storyteller.

I use photography to visually tell the stories about the life and experiences that unfold around me. Whether I am on an assignment for an architectural shoot, portrait session or just photographing for pleasure, I approach my art with the same energy and excitement each time that I am behind the lens.

When I am viewing the world with my camera, it is an opportunity for me to capture unique, authentic and fleeting moments that will never happen the exact same way again. I love the challenge of merging the things in my frame that can be controlled along with all of the elements that cannot. Whether the day is chaotic or mundane there is beauty in all of the moments that are passing by. I want to be there, ready with my camera and in the middle of it all to document the world that I see.

Laura Peters is the official in-house photographer at CannonDesign where she is a champion for the firm’s Living-Centered Design approach. She is dedicated to capturing the humanity that defines CannonDesign’s projects, people, and culture—in photo form.

Laura lives in Chicago and graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a B.F.A. in photography.
